BETA CAE Systems announces the release of v20.1.1 for ANSA/EPILYSIS/META suite and KOMVOS.

Apart from fixes in the detected issues, this version also hosts noteworthy enhancements and implementations.

Communication with License Manager

ANSA and META could fail to cycle through all the available License Servers, when trying to re-acquire License credits.

ANSA could fail to turn in Idle Status, while remaining in Launcher window mode.

Graphics Performance

Fixed performance issue of ANSA and META for certain laptops with AMD and onboard graphics card.

Bulkhead Tool Plugin

A new plugin, designed to enable the fast creation of bulkheads under specific profiles of FE parts. Numerous available options further facilitate the automatic creation of connections on flanges, fillets , as well as the parameterization of the bulkhead’s location.

Modular Run Management

Pedestrian protection loadcases can now be set-up and managed in the Modular Run Management environment with the aid of the new Library Item of type "Target Points".

Batch Meshing

Major improvements in quality, speed, and robustness for CFD surface meshing scenarios.

Known issues resolved in ANSA

CAD to ANSA Translators

Unexpected termination could occur upon the translation of a CATProduct file with "Preview assemblies" and "Merge Parts" options activated, executed via base.CadToAnsa() script function.

Modular Run Management

During "Smart Assembly", the status of connectors would be lost leading to the unnecessary saving of new versions of Connecting Subsystems.

Feature Manager and Fasteners

Unexpected termination could occur when saving Common Representation of Fastener Entities via DM.

The Feature Manager would not be updated after Change Representation.

Fluent

Fluent HDF files output from ANSA could not be read in the latest version of Fluent 2020.

Enhancements in META

Read Results

LS-DYNA SPC resultant Forces are now supported as SET_SPC Force in 2D Plot.

Moreover, reading PowerFLOW results from specific PIDs can be successfully achieved.

Known issues resolved in META

META might be suspended, when reading results with the option "Settings > Global Settings > General > Read > Read Hypermesh Comments" activated.

NVH Calculators

FRF Assembly: Numerous improvements and fixes for the new revamped FRF Assembly tool.

Modal / FRF Correlation: ANSYS complex results were erroneously read.

Modal Response: Unexpected termination might occur, when calculating nodal results using .h5 Nastran modal results, without corresponding geometry.

Reading modal matrices from large .op2 files could fail.

META Viewer

Unexpected termination would occur when trying to copy a window.

Compatibility and Supported Platforms

ANSA files saved by all the first and second point releases of a major version are compatible to each other. New major versions can read files saved by previous ones but not vice versa.

META Project files saved from version 20.1.1 are compatible and can be opened by META version 20.0.0 or later. To be readable by META versions earlier than v20.0.0 or v16.0.0, they have to be saved selecting the option "Version 16.0.0" or "Version <16.0.0".

Support for Mac OS has been discontinued.

Support for 32-bit platform has been discontinued for all operating systems.

Customers who are served directly by BETA CAE Systems, or its subsidiaries, may download the new software, examples and documentation from their account on our server. They can access their account through the "user login" link at our web site.

What to download

All files required for the installation of this version reside in the folders named "BETA_CAE_Systems_v20.1.1" and "KOMVOS_v20.1.1" and are dated as of March 9, 2020. These files should replace any pre-releases or other files downloaded prior to that date.
The distribution of this version of our pre- and post-processing suite is packaged in one, single, unified installation file, that invokes the respective installer and guides the procedure for the installation of the required components.

For the installation of the software on each platform type, the.sh installer file residing in the folder with respective platform name, for Linux or the respective .msi installer file for Windows, have to be downloaded.

In addition to the above, optionally, the META Viewer is available to be downloaded for each supported platform.

The tutorials and the example files reside in the folder named "TUTORIALS". This folder includes the complete package of the tutorials and example files, and a package with only the updated ones.

The Abaqus libraries required for the post-processing of Abaqus .odb files are included in the installation package and can be optionally unpacked.

Earlier software releases are also available in the sub-directory called "old" or in a folder named after the product and version number.
