Common issues resolved

Communication with License Manager

A new option to "Save & Retry" for license has been added in the CONFIRMATION dialogue window that pops up in ANSA and META, when the communication with the license server is interrupted. In this way, the user will be able to first save the file and then retry re-acquire license.

Graphics

ANSA and META could potentially fail to launch on a unique display, while executing batch jobs in parallel via VirtualX.

For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.

Known issues resolved in ANSA

Connections & Assembly

The calculation of skipped adhesive elements (Cut-off Adhesives) for spotweld and adhesive line realization would produce erroneous results.

Safety

Unexpected termination of the Seatbelt Tool would occur, when changing the Number of Shells during Seatbelt re-creation.

Scripting

The Node Ids would be erroneously renumbered and duplicated, when using the function base.AddToModelContainer(), because of the numbering rules applied on the Model Browser container of the Nodes.

For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.

Known issues resolved in EPILYSIS

SOL200

Unexpected termination would occur in optimization with frequency response, coupled with enforced motion.

In SOL200 runs, the CDAMP1/CDAMP3 elements would not be connected correctly with PDAMP properties. In addition, values from DVPREL entries would not be not passed.

For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.

Known issues resolved in META

BETA Packager Installer

The Toolbars Packager can now handle function calls that use the "dotted" notation. The dots will be automatically replaced by double underscores, so that the respective functions are created without any issues.

Nastran

Unexpected termination could occur while reading curves from .h5 files, due to memory leak.

Pam-Crash

Results could not be loaded correctly while reading .erfh5 files.

Managing Curve Data

When reading Contribution analysis results without Total Curve, the corresponding plots were not populated correctly.

LS-DYNA: Curves would not be properly plotted from a binout file, when the same Id was available for different entity types of 'swforc'.

Total Panel contributions would not be not read correctly for NX-Nastran.

Subcases States were missing when reading Nastran .h5 SOL111 results with Stresses.

NVH Calculators & Modal Response

FS Coupling: Too many structural elements would be included in the FSI, when the fluid mesh penetrated the surrounding structure in a way that the free surface rested significantly outside the surrounding panels.

When two FLUID PIDs had common faces, the FSI calculation would occasionally take into account faces which were not part of the outer surface of the fluid.

Fixed inaccurate numerical transient response analysis results, in cases where rigid body modes contributed to the response.

For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.

Compatibility and Supported Platforms

ANSA files saved by all the first and second point releases of a major version are compatible to each other. New major versions can read files saved by previous ones but not vice versa.

META Project files saved from version 21.1.7 are compatible and can be opened by META version 16.0.0 or later.

Support for Mac OS has been discontinued.

Support for 32-bit platforms has been discontinued for all operating systems.

What to download

All files required for the installation of this version reside in the folders named "BETA_CAE_Systems_v21.1.7" and are dated as of May 12, 2022. These files should replace any pre-releases or other files downloaded prior to that date.
The distribution of this version of our pre- and post-processing suite is packaged in one, single, unified installation file, that invokes the respective installer and guides the procedure for the installation of the required components.

For the installation of the software on each platform type, download from the respective folders, the .sh file for Linux or the .msi file for Windows.

In addition to the above, optionally, the META Viewer is available to be downloaded for each supported platform.

The tutorials and the example files reside in the folder named "TUTORIALS". This folder includes the complete package of the tutorials and example files, and a package with only the updated ones.

The Abaqus libraries required for the post-processing of Abaqus .odb files are included in the installation package and can be optionally unpacked.

Earlier software releases are also available in the sub-directory called "Previous_Versions" or in a folder named after the product and version number.
