the v16.1.3 of its software suite
About this release
BETA CAE Systems announces the release of v16.1.3 of its software suite.
This maintenance release focuses on the correction of identified issues for the BETA CAE suite 16.1x branch and is addressed to those who wish to continue to use the v16.1x branch -and not upgrade to v16.2x.
The code corrections have also be propagated to the imminent new releases of v16.2x branch.
The most important additions and fixes implemented in v16.1.3 are listed below.

General
Utilities: Multiple leaks can now be detected when applying Isolate[Skin].

Model Browser
In certain cases the deletion of entities could lead to unexpected termination.
Data Management
CAD to ANSA: Reading SMARAGD.PLMXML files with more than one roots could lead to erroneous positioning of parts.
Scripting: SaveSubsystems() might save erroneous file type of subsystem when the file type was not among the standard types (e.g. Nastran, Abaqus, LSdyna, etc.).
Shell Mesh
Applying Fill>Manual could lead to unexpected termination when using Pause/Break.
Volume Mesh
Structured Mesh>Map: Increasing the number of steps would affect the result of the function.
Tools: The "Load existing panels" option of the Create Cavity Panels wizard could lead to unexpected termination.
Solver DECKs
OptiStruct: Output of DRESP entities could lead to unexpected termination.
NASTRAN: NSML/NSML1 could not be read under a specific format, resulting in unread lines upon file input.
LS-DYNA: *INITIAL_STRESS_SHELL_SET would lose its relation with its corresponding SET_SHELL upon input.
Morphing
Morphing a Box Edge Fit parameter could lead to unexpected termination in Linux OS.

Known issues resolved in META
General
Several graphics problems on work stations with AMD GPU's.
Supported Interfaces
ABAQUS *NMAP,..., TYPE=RECTANGULAR was not supported correctly.
OpenFOAM moving mesh could not be read from a decomposed case.
Equivalent Radiated Power results were not supported correctly from Optistruct *.pch files.
Handling Entities
Command "color element ..." did not work for all active models.
Project Files
Unexpected termination could occur when reading compressed project files with Quad8 elements and corner results.
Colors of elements might not be saved correctly in project files when Save Visible option was used.
File Export
Curves would not be saved correctly in TABLED format.
Automation
Session command "script execute ..." did not work correctly for compiled Python scripts.
LoadCurvesRadioss function would not work for more than one named entities.
Annotations on curves might not be correctly created using Overlay functionality.

Compatibility and Supported Platforms
ANSA files saved by all the first and second point releases of a major version are compatible to each other. New major versions can read files saved by previous ones but not vice versa.
META Project files saved from version 16.1.3 are compatible and can be opened by META version 16.0.0 or later. To be readable by META versions earlier than v16.0.0, they have to be saved selecting the option "Version <16.0.0".
Support for 32-bit platform has been discontinued for all operating systems.

What to download
All files required for the installation of this version reside in the folder named "BETA_CAE_Systems_v16.1.3" and are
dated as of June 17, 2016.
These files should replace any pre-releases or other files downloaded prior to that date.
The distribution of this version of our pre- and post-processing suite is packaged in one, single, unified installation file, that invokes the respective installer and guides the procedure for the installation of the required components.
For the installation of the software on each platform type, the.sh installer file residing in the folder with respective platform name, for Linux and MacOS or the respective .msi installer file for Windows, 64bit, have to be downloaded.
In addition to the above, optionally, the µETA Viewer is available to be downloaded for each supported platform.
The tutorials and the example files reside in the folder named "TUTORIALS". This folder includes the complete package of the tutorials and example files, and a package with only the updated ones.
The Abaqus libraries required for the post-processing of Abaqus .odb files are included in the installation package and can be optionally unpacked.
Earlier software releases are also available in the sub-directory called "old" or in a folder named after the product and version number.
